1. Overview & Non-Invasive Relationship Philosophy
PulsePair is developed and operated by Minto Software Solutions (“we”, “our”, or “us”). PulsePair is engineered specifically for committed couples seeking voluntary intimacy, gentle presence, mutual cycle care, and emergency response capabilities.
Our foundational principle is “Connection, Not Surveillance”. Unlike generic tracking or parental monitoring apps:
- We never record, store, or sell your location history or historical routes.
- We provide real-time driving speed display for peaceful travel awareness without annoying overspeeding notifications, and allow you to disable speed sharing completely anytime in Settings.
- Pairing is 100% mutual and requires an explicit 6-digit code exchange between both devices.
2. Prominent Disclosure: Background Location Access
To provide continuous real-time distance and status features, PulsePair requests access to ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, and ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION:
- Purpose: Exclusively to calculate the linear distance between you and your paired partner (e.g. “12 km apart”) and display your current location on your private couple map.
- Ephemeral Data: Your current coordinates overwrite previous coordinates in real time. We do not retain historical breadcrumb databases.
- User Control: You can toggle location sharing ON or OFF at any time within app settings.
- No Third-Party Sale: Location data is strictly used for peer-to-peer partner features and is never sold to advertisers, data brokers, or analytics intermediaries.
3. Driving Speed Telemetry & Privacy Control
When traveling, PulsePair displays your current estimated movement speed (in km/h) on the private map so your partner knows you are in transit:
- No Nagging Notifications: PulsePair does not monitor driving infractions, generate overspeeding warnings, or send punitive alerts.
- Settings Toggle: Speed telemetry is completely optional. You can disable speed sharing at any time in App Settings without affecting other features.
4. Foreground Service & Emergency Siren Permissions
PulsePair utilizes Android’s FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION capabilities to run a dedicated, low-power background listener:
- Persistent Notification: A persistent notification is displayed in the Android system drawer indicating that PulsePair is actively connected to your partner.
- Emergency SOS Lock Screen Alarm: When your partner triggers an Emergency SOS Ring, the app utilizes
USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENTandSYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOWto wake up your phone display and sound an audible siren even if the device is set to Silent or Do Not Disturb.
5. Information We Collect and Process
A. Profile Information:
Display name, pairing code, user gender (used solely for cycle insights customization), avatar image, anniversary date, and optional partner phone number.
B. Couple Content:
Shared task items, grocery lists, gratitude notes, and photo memories (subject to the 25-photo quota per couple).
C. Diagnostic & Battery Telemetry:
Device battery percentage and charging state (e.g. “Charging • 85%”) communicated in real time to your partner.
6. Account Deletion & Right to Erasure
In compliance with Google Play Developer Policies and global privacy regulations:
- You may unlink your couple pairing and permanently delete your account and all associated vault memories directly from within the app settings.
- Upon unpairing or deletion, all stored memories, tasks, gratitude notes, and tokens are permanently purged from our servers within 30 days.
